After my triumph of leasing new life into an old iMac I decided to tackle the cracked screen on my daughter’s MacBook Air. Buying the part from eBay and doing it myself was going to save £150 over the price quoted by Apple for the repair.
Below you will see a picture of the 27 screws it took to get the old screen off. What you can’t see below is the smile on my daughter’s face and the even bigger one on mine.
This job turned out to be easier than I expected. However, it would have been impossible without the right tools. In this case pentalobe screwdrivers. What other jobs can I tackle? What other tools can I buy?
